Silicate-free is more important than ever today. Silicates used to be used to protect aluminum cylinder heads against corrosion. Now we know that these cause problems because they can cause abrasive powders or gels. The coolant has a frost protection of -26 degrees Celsius. The mono propylene glycol based fluid prevents overheating and reduces the operating temperature of the engine block. The most important aspect of the coolant is that the engine does not overheat.
